Taragona is well place a for a variety of excellent limestone and conglomerate crags south and West of Barcelona. Fly conveniently to Reus from Leeds and Bradford. Flights at the moment are great value.

The Taragona guide below is a selective guidebook that covers the sport climbing in the Sierra de Prades Mountains that rise sharply behind the coastal city of Tarragona. These predominately limestone and conglomerate crags are at an altitude of between 500m and 1000m and provide some of the best sport climbing in Catalunya. It is possible to find good conditions at any time of the year, though autumn through to spring is a great time. Closest crags are  La Riba, Els Cogullons, El Penitent, Mont-ral, La Mussara, Vilanova de Prades and Masriudoms. In total over 4,800 routes are detailed across a wide range of ranges from F3 to F9a that will suit all levels and styles.
